Sydney Bus’s to go prepaid only!
A NUMBER of bus stops will become pre-paid only in an attempt to reduce bus travel times.
The State Government announced three bus stops at Cremorne Junction and Neutral Bay Junction will be only accept prepaid Sydney bus passes during weekday morning peak hours. Transport Minister David Campbell said the stops would be cashless from Monday to Friday, 7am to 10am, starting on Monday, February 16.
“This is about providing commuters with a faster, cheaper, and more convenient bus service,” Mr Campbell said.
Mr Campbell said the conversion of the bus stops at Cremorne and Neutral Bay junctions for city-bound services “will assist commuters with faster boarding times and improved reliability of services”.
The bus stops affected are:
- Spofforth St near Military Rd, Cremorne Junction
- Military Rd outside the Metropole Shopping Centre, Cremorne Junction; and
- Military Rd near Wycombe Rd, Neutral Bay Junction.
All bus stops at Wynyard Park (York St, Carrington St and Clarence St) will be converted to prepay only from March 2 as all bus stops in the central business district gradually become cashless. Cremorne Junction commuters can purchase prepaid bus tickets from the newsagent at the Metropole Shopping Centre or the Scoop Food shop on Spofforth St. For Neutral Bay junction passengers, there are seven ticket outlets close by, including the Wycombe Rd Newsagency.
